O ur CEO & Founder has been working with SDN technologies such as Cisco ACI and VMware NSX for 8 years now and was one of the first people to deploy NSX in VMware’s vCloud Air before it was sold to OVH. In 2016 Andy came up with an idea to build a virtual lab that enhanced NSX’s SDN platform by stacking technologies together such as Arista, Trend Micro and Palo Alto to provide, am SDN fabric, Deep Security and Edge Security which all knits together.

Things have moved on quite significantly since 2016 and 2014 when VMware acquired Nicira and launched NSX. SD WAN is on a similar trajectory gaining real adoption now, the emergence of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and the adoption of CI CD are all driving and underline requirement for a SDN platform. Micro-segmentation was the initial use cases that captured the attention in terms of SDN but things like reducing time to provision and reducing and securing East \ West traffic are also key. SD WAN now extends SDN type micro-segmentation and prioritisation into the WAN and Branch \ Edge.
